About Us

The Perfectly Flawed Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit, community-based organization focused on harm reduction and recovery, serving individuals and families in North Central Illinois impacted by substance use. Founded and led by a former IV drug user, the foundation is dedicated to challenging stigma and transforming the way society views and treats those who use drugs or have substance use disorders. We recognize that stigma kills, preventing people from seeking help. Our mission is to empower people  to make positive changes on their own terms with compassion and kindness.

Perfectly Flawed serves as a safety net and provides a wide range of services for those seeking care including harm reduction, overdose prevention and response, peer support, access to care, support groups, social activities, family support scholarships, training, education, and awareness in the North Central Illinois region.

We define recovery as “Any Positive Change,” determined by the individual. As a trusted, non-judgmental entry point for those seeking support, we meet people where they are. For some, this simply means providing education and resources to reduce risks, use substances more safely and prevent overdose, while for others, it involves stigma-free access to additional support services, treatment, healthcare, and wellness. 

At Perfectly Flawed, we believe in multiple pathways to recovery, allowing individuals the freedom to choose  their own path to health and happiness. Whether it’s abstinence, support groups, medication, moderation management, reduced use, or harm reduction, all are valid forms of recovery those seeking change. While abstinence is a goal for many, it is never a requirement to receive our services or support.
